Pittsburgh-area diagnostic visits
Dryer Not Heating?
A dryer that never warms up is different from one that heats but takes multiple cycles to dry. Tell us which pattern you notice and whether the drum turns.
$80 diagnostic visit, credited toward your repair if you proceed. If you decline, the $80 remains due. You receive the repair price before work begins.
No heat or slow drying?
Describe whether clothes stay cold or become warm but remain damp. Note the cycle selected and whether the issue affects every load. Heating, controls and airflow can all be relevant. The symptom alone is not a reason to order a replacement heating element.
Gas or electric configuration
If you already know whether the dryer is gas or electric, include that information. Do not move the dryer or disconnect anything to check. A model number from an accessible label helps identify the configuration and diagnostic approach.
Installation and airflow observations
Mention unusual heat, a visibly crushed vent or a recent installation change, without moving the dryer or opening panels. We assess the appliance fault and explain if an external venting concern needs separate attention. A slow-drying complaint does not always mean an appliance part needs replacement.
Preparing for the visit
Tell us whether the unit is stacked, in a closet or on another floor. Save any error code and describe unusual noise. If you notice a burning smell, stop using the dryer instead of continuing test loads. Clear the approach for the technician.
